The encouragement, support and kind words we have received from all of you has been overwhelming, and we appreciate it so much.

Dear Valued and Loyal Members and Friends of CLSC,

After much soul-searching and prayerful and careful consideration, we have decided to permanently close County Line Shooting Center. Sunday, April 12, 2015 will be our final day.

We did not reach this decision lightly. It was our dream and vision to bring a top-notch shooting sports facility to Central Texas. We wanted a place where everyone would feel welcome, safe and comfortable. We believe that is the kind of shooting range we ran for the short time we were open.

As many of you know, we have been plagued with a lawsuit that was filed before we even opened for business. The lawsuit was complicated by the fact that the presiding judge in the case, Judge Boyer, never did issue an actual ruling. The last of the ridiculously drawn out hearing (the hearing began in March 2014) was in September 2014. In June, before we had our chance to present our side of the case, he issued a letter which forced us to shut down our rifle and pistol ranges. As of today, he still has not issued a ruling. In absence of a ruling, there was no way for us to know and meet the conditions to reopen. The financial and personal toll has gotten to be too much for us to handle. It has cost us our life savings and then some to fight the lawsuit and stay open as long as we have.

We realize many of you purchased memberships in good faith, believing that we would either remain open or reopen. We do not want to betray the trust you placed in us. If you are interested in a prorated refund of your membership fee, please contact us at and we will be happy to provide you with a check. If you are in a position and are so moved to consider your membership fee as a contribution to our legal expenses, we will greatly appreciate your generosity.

Keep in mind our former competitors' businesses when looking for a shooting range. Lone Star Gun Range is north of Lockhart, Dietz Gun Shop & Shooting Range is west of New Braunfels and Red's Indoor Range is in South Austin.
